Credit Control Administrator

As a Credit Control and Goods Inwards Administrator, you will support the Branch Manager by providing accurate and efficient administrative assistance aligned with the Group Credit Policy. You’ll also contribute to the wider success of the branch through involvement in goods inwards management and health & safety responsibilities, helping ensure smooth daily operations and a safe, well-organised workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Control & Administration

  • Ensure a high standard of customer service in all credit control interactions
  • Achieve cash collection targets and manage debtor days
  • Review and refer customer credit limits to Head Office as required
  • Enforce adherence to the Group Credit Policy
  • Maintain and manage all branch credit control administration
  • Process customer payments promptly and accurately
  • Manage and resolve account queries efficiently
  • Deliver timely and accurate invoice data to customers
  • Handle distressed debtors professionally, including coordination with Head Office and third-party collection agencies

Goods Inwards & Operational Support

  • Update and track all goods inwards to ensure no items are lost or misplaced
  • Respond to goods inwards queries and solve operational issues efficiently
  • Support counter sales and prepare sales dockets as required
  • Handle petty cash and assist the cash office when needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and secure workplace environment
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers

Health & Safety

  • Act as a Health & Safety champion in the branch

  • Follow and promote company health & safety policies and procedures

  • Ensure a safe working environment for colleagues and customers

  • Report any hazards or incidents promptly and responsibly

Employment Engagement 

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives by promoting a positive workplace culture, organizing team-building activities, and gathering feedback to support continuous improvement in employee satisfaction and morale.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong written and numerical skills
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced administration environment
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Experience in goods inward administration (desirable)
  • Working toward a relevant qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
