SMH has a research partnership with UCD and runs QQI accredited programmes of education up to and including Honours Degree Level through its Open Training College.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential Qualifications
- A relevant third-level qualification in Information Technology or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Desirable Qualifications
- Suitable technical qualifications (such as CCNP-S, CCSA R80, CASP+, CySA+)
Essential Experience
- 5 + Years proven experience managing enterprise‑level cyber security operations, including antivirus, encryption, vulnerability management, IDS/IPS, and threat‑monitoring platforms.
- Strong hands‑on expertise with Azure and Microsoft 365 security controls, including Conditional Access, Identity Protection, Defender suite configuration, and Secure Score optimisation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and optimise web filtering, email filtering, enterprise firewalls, NAC, and remote access VPN systems.
- Experience contributing to or managing cyber security strategy, including technology evaluation, road mapping, and alignment with organisational goals.
- Background in developing, managing, or advising on ICT security budgets and resource allocation.
- Skilled in vendor management and maintaining productive relationships with external technology/security partners.
- Solid experience applying security best practice frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls.

SALARY SCALE: Successful candidates will be paid in line with HSE Grade VII revised consolidated pay scales, i.e., 1: € Grade VII Point 1: € 60,613 to Point 11: €78,795 LSIs per annum pro rata based on 35 hours per week.
Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above
HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week.
