About the role:

The Analytics team within the Data & Analytics Centre of Excellence is responsible for the provision of a range of analytics services across the Group including, Strategic Insights, Measurement and Reporting, Advanced Analytics and Customer Engagement. We comprise of a diverse mix of skills, from Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Reporting Analysts and Advanced Analytics Specialists, supporting and enabling internal and external stakeholders. Driving value for customer and the organisation is our core objective, delivered through the provision of intelligent, innovative and insightful analytics to inform decisions and realise measurable business benefit.

The Analytics function within the Data & Analytics Centre of Excellence are responsible for leading and driving value from AIB’s data, leveraging a diverse and advanced analytics toolset, to deliver business benefit and inform decision making across the group. We are comprised of a diverse mix of skills, from Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Reporting Analysts and Advanced Analytics Specialists, supporting and enabling internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform data exploration on a variety of disparate data sources (structured & unstructured) and communicate the results to stakeholders to help inform business decisions.
  • Establish strong relationship with business partners and key stakeholders, engage with business areas from across the organisation to understand the opportunities / challenges we as an organisation face on a daily basis and present back analytical findings. 
  • Follow processes to inform decisions on query approach and appropriate outputs, taking ownership on how to solve for more complex problems. Escalates any identified issues and opportunities as appropriate.
  • Create and visualise data output and present to business stakeholders
  • Support a continuous improvement culture within the organisation, where innovation and creative thinking is encouraged and developed

What you will bring:

  • 2+ years’ experience as Data Analyst or experience in financial services with relevant data analyst qualifications
  • Experience of SQL is a pre-requisite
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work on own initiative and strong attention to detail, completing tasks to a very high degree of accuracy.
  • Proven ability to quickly adapt to new environments and to gain an understanding of new processes, applications and procedures.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, able to evidence proven ability engage with senior stakeholders and influence approach
