Role Title: Data Business Analyst - Business Governance

Location: London/Belfast/Hybrid

This role is being offered on a Permanent basis.

Summary of role:

In AIB the UK Chief Information Office sits within Operations and Business Governance. A new area has been established to help deliver data remediation across our regulatory and strategic programmes. With Senior Data Business Analysts becoming subject matter experts in the bank’s core system functionality data model and key business processes and acting as functional SME and interface between the business and the development teams. Providing analysis expertise to understand how requirements translate to technical change and responsible for the delivering all analysis artefacts and supporting testing.

Minimum Criteria:  Please note that the following criteria form the basis of your answers on the application form

  • Facilitate workshops to help define business requirements that are specific, comprehensive and achievable
  • Produce functional specifications that describe the required solution and are clear for the development team to use when designing the technical solution
  • Utilise data analysis skills to support investigation and triage of data quality issues
  • Work collaboratively within the data BA team and engage in issue resolution with team members
  • Based on the data requirements, determine appropriate enhancements to the data model, apply relevant data modelling techniques and follow the governance process for approval of data model updates
  • Additional Responsibilities:

  • Estimate effort for Analysis deliverables and work to meet the agreed timelines
  • Based on the project data requirements, work with business stakeholders to identify and optimise business processes
  • Support the Development team to translate functional specifications into technical specifications and implementation
  • Review test observations from the Test team and manage the closure of issues for deliveries
  • Support completion of functional and regression testing if required
  • Report RAIDs and regular status updates on analysis deliveries, including status against milestones and propose mitigating actions where possible
  • Work to achieve excellent business understanding including knowledge on products and data received into the system and understanding of how the platform is used to support regulatory reporting processes
