Data Capture Technician

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Capture Technician to support a public sector digitisation project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality digital images of historical documents, following specified procedures, and ensuring data integrity and confidentiality throughout.

This role is offered on a fixed-term contract of one year, with the potential for renewal or extension depending on company needs and individual performance. It includes a six-month probationary period.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Digitise various types of documents using flatbed, overhead, and large-format scanners
• Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Re-file documents and assist Archivists as required
• Comply with confidentiality and data security policies
• Adhere to Quality and Information Security Management Systems

Working Hours

• The working hours are 30 hours per week. Working hours are between 09am to 05pm Tuesday to Friday.

Location:

• The main office location is in Rathmines, Dublin and it is on-site position.

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Excellent digital and IT skills (Microsoft Office suite essential)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable handling delicate or oversized historical materials

Desirable:

• Previous experience working with historical documents or scanning equipment
• Familiarity with digital archiving or data capture processes

Security Clearance:
This role is subject to Garda Vetting and/or background checks, due to the nature of the materials handled.
