Data Protection Officer & Compliance Manager

Permanent, Full-time 36 hours per week.

The successful applicant may be required to work in any of the College's buildings, as necessary.

The Data Protection Officer and Compliance Manager will be responsible for the development and management of a professional information governance function for the College. They will:

• Carry out the statutory role as the college data protection officer (DPO) as defined under the UK general data protection regulations (GDPR).
• Support the college to ensure compliance with relevant legislation including but not limited to UK GDPR, the data protection act, freedom of information act and other relevant records and information management standards.
• Ensure an effective complaints function for the college, overseeing the development, implementation and continuous review of the college’s related policies, procedures, and associated documentation. 
• Oversee the ongoing management, review, and development of the college internal policy portfolio, ensuring that staff adhere to policies and that all staff and student policies are created, approved, and reviewed in line with agreed process.
• Lead a small professional team to establish a culture of effective governance across the college, ensuring appropriate systems, processes and procedures are in place to deliver a modern, professional, responsive, and quality service to internal and external stakeholders.
