The Role:

The Analytics function within the Data & Analytics Centre of Excellence are responsible for leading and driving value from AIB’s data, leveraging a diverse and advanced analytics toolset, to deliver business benefit and inform decision making across the group. We comprise of a diverse mix of skills, from Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Reporting Analysts and Advanced Analytics Specialists, supporting and enabling internal and external stakeholders.

The Advanced Analytics function supports all areas across the business who are passionate about developing innovative and sustainable AI and Machine Learning products that deliver measurably high value for the business, and better and fairer outcomes for our customers, colleagues and communities

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for the successful candidate to join a highly skilled and passionate team of Data Scientists and Engineers. This role will suit someone early in their Data Science career, with a strong foundation in programming and statistical modelling, with a passion for solving complex problems. We will challenge you with real business problems and tool you with the best technologies to deliver innovative solutions across many aspects of Data & Analytics and you will be supported with necessary coaching and technical development. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Business, design and develop innovative machine learning solutions which create real business value
  • Perform exploratory analysis to identify patterns, trends and insights
  • Collaborate with teams to identify and understand business requirements.
  • Manage data extraction, pre-processing, and analysis using Teradata.
  • Create and optimize models using Python and SAS Viya.
  • Maintain code quality and version control with Git.
  • Monitor, manage and maintain deployed models.
  • Evaluate models and iterate to improve performance
  • Operate in an Agile environment, utilizing Jira for project management
  • Deliver results and insights clearly to a non-technical audience
  • Contribute to solution identification for initiatives undertaken across the team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in machine learning
  • Proficient in Python, with knowledge of SAS Viya a bonus
  • Demonstrated understanding of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms
  • Experienced in using Teradata for data extraction, manipulation and feature engineering.
  • Skilled in Git for version control.
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies and Jira.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
