Consulting Manager - Carve Out Deals Delivering Value

Job Summary:

Our Deals Merger and Acquisition Integration Consulting practice has seen significant growth in the last 2 years and are now looking to double in size.

We work with clients to achieve maximum value and focus on providing value-add and impactful advisory consulting services span pre- and post-deal due diligence, supporting complex divestitures and separations of public and private sector clients. We turn complex data into actionable business intelligence, through data insights, modelling, benchmarking and visualisation.

Purpose-led work you’ll be part of

A career within Delivering Deal Value services, offers you with the opportunity to leverage your strong M&A transactions background to provide value maximization for both buy and sell-side deals, working strategically to develop and plan deals and carve-outs as part of separations. You will partner with clients to guide and solve complex and challenging transformational M&A deals, working end-to-end from pre-completion to large scale enterprise-wide integrations.

Background and Experience

Experience and a proven record of success in the following areas: ​

  • Leading strategic M&A and Carve-out projects - from pre-deal due diligence to post-close integration and separation planning 

  • Strong analytical and innovative thinking skills, a solution-design thinking mindset with a strong background in leading multiple and complex client projects 

  • Partnering with clients - collaborating cross-functionally and effectively prioritizing projects in a dynamic environment

Role & responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Nurture and build - Proactively assist in the nurturing of several clients 

  • Coach and mentor - collaborate with team members to build skills and confidence through knowledge sharing and building technical and client relationship management skills 

  • Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues 

  • Drive business development activities – identifying new client and research opportunities, through strong client relationships 

  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand 

Experiences and skills

  • Degree qualified and 5 – 7 years’ experience in M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) and Divestitures

  • Expertise in - 

  • pre-deal operations and information technology due diligence,

  • integration planning, separation planning, synergy and cost savings analysis,

  • post-close transformation,

Additional knowledge of two or more functional areas: Information Technology, Human Resources, Finance, Operations/Supply Chain, and/or Sales and Marketing. 

  • Strong project management skills within a Merger, Acquisition or Divestiture environment, or similar complex project with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced work environment, including the following:

  • Empowering and supporting teams to achieve shared goals that foster a productive teamwork environment, as well as coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback; 

  • Creating meaningful impact that reflects strategic and creative thinking, sharp analytical and problem solving including the ability to frame complex problems and apply creative analytics to formulate a pragmatic solution;

  • Participating actively in client or management discussions to gather data and understand issues;

  • Leading project work streams, including project staffing, budgeting, planning, and status updating and work autonomously with little direction;

  • Communicating effectively in written and oral formats to various situations and audiences;

Facilitating working sessions of medium to large sized groups - Managing and conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex data.
