The Role:
The Asset Management and Sustainability area is responsible for the development of asset policies, strategies and plans to determine the significant investment required into Ireland’s infrastructure. The area drives investment and the Sustainability and Innovation agenda for the organisation and leads on Environmental Regulation and Compliance activities, ensuring the quality of water and wastewater is continuously monitored. The Asset Management function is responsible for strategic planning, prioritisation, and development of Uisce Éireann’s Capital Works pipeline. The function plays a key role in promoting collaboration and co-ordination of activities across the three asset functions as well as providing environmental assessment and management expertise across Uisce Éireann.
The Asset Strategy Team responsibility is to develop strategic plans for all water, wastewater and natural assets and to ensure the authorisation of the asset base. The scope of the team's responsibility covers 5 main areas: environmental strategy, water asset strategy, wastewater asset strategy, forward planning and planning strategy.
Reporting to the Forward Planning Manager, the Demand and Growth Technical Manager is responsible for driving demand analysis and growth management activities in a strategic manner across Uisce Éireann The role holder will work to understand business needs and prioritise activity and resources as appropriate.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the approach to water and wastewater demand analysis
- Develop and implement strategies for facilitating growth within Uisce Éireann
- Imbed a standardised approach to facilitating growth across the capital investment plan
- Manage the programme associated with delivering capacity for housing growth
- Review historical sourcing trends, demand drivers, develop statistical forecast models and evaluate forecast results.
- Refine systems and methods to continually improve forecasts
- Forecast future water demand based on population growth, urban development and industrial expansions
- Integrate sustainable principles into demand analysis, promoting water conservation and efficient resource use
- Develop and analyse different scenarios to assess the impact of various factors on water demand, allowing for more informed decision making
- Identify potential risks associated with changes in demand and develop strategies for proactivite risk mitigation
- Manage budgets related to demand analysis, monitoring expenditure and ensuring cost effectiveness
- Implement relevant technologies to enhance demand analysis processes, including advanced metering infrastructure and data analytics tools
- Regularly report on progress and escalate risks and opportunities as appropriate.
- Proven track recordin leading continuous improvements and collaborating across departments achieving shared objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of safety responsibilities and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
- Influencing key external stakeholders such as the OPR, LAs etc.
- Develop and implement relevant strategies
- Provide visible leadership for your team, coaching and developing them to achieve their full potential and deliver business objectives, promoting collaboration and highlighting the behaviours that are expected from everyone in the team.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable and or relevant experience
- A minimum of 7 years’ Experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams to deliver strategic objectives
- Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly to senior internal and external stakeholders
- Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results at a senior level
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions at a senior level
- Experience of developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders
- Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate complex information to others
- Experience of supporting policies, systems and controls and driving the implementation of progressive policies.
- You will have a proven track record in leadership, change & transformation experience ideally in a similar utility, regulated industry or multi stakeholder environment
- Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions and ambiguity generating effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented.
- Demonstrated experience in setting measurable safety and well-being goals for a team.
