Dental Hygienist
Purpose of the Role
Support implementation of a light therapy service (photobiomodulation or PBM) for children and young people undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy and/or stem cell transplant at CHI Crumlin. This will include
- Working with haematology-oncology clinicians to identify suitable patients
- Liaising with paediatric dentistry colleagues to plan assessment
- Providing PBM therapy as indicated
- Collecting required clinical data and maintaining a database of same
- Providing appropriate oral health advice as required
- Participating in stakeholder group meetings and reporting findings to colleagues
Essential Criteria:
Candidates must:
- Be registered in the Register of Dental Hygienists maintained by the Dental Council of Ireland or entitled to be so registered
AND
- Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
