Dental Hygienist

Purpose of the Role

Support implementation of a light therapy service (photobiomodulation or PBM) for children and young people undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy and/or stem cell transplant at CHI Crumlin. This will include

• Working with haematology-oncology clinicians to identify suitable patients
• Liaising with paediatric dentistry colleagues to plan assessment
• Providing PBM therapy as indicated
• Collecting required clinical data and maintaining a database of same
• Providing appropriate oral health advice as required
• Participating in stakeholder group meetings and reporting findings to colleagues

Essential Criteria:

Candidates must:

• Be registered in the Register of Dental Hygienists maintained by the Dental Council of Ireland or entitled to be so registered

AND

• Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
