Details of Service

The HSE Dental Service provides preventive and treatment services to children to adults children with special needs and other eligible patients. The service also implements a range of health promotion programmes. The post holder will provide a comprehensive dental service to adults and children in CHO Area 5, as required. General Anaesthetic Services are also provided in St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny and inhalation sedation services are also available. It is also planned to develop intravenous sedation services.

The dental team includes a Principal Dental Surgeon, Senior Administrative Dental Surgeon, and General Dental Surgeons, Dental Hygienists, Senior Dental Nurses, Dental Nurses. The dental team also refers eligible patients to the CHO5 Orthodontic service and works closely with this service.
