KNOW THE ROLE

To lead and develop the Back of House operations at Brown Thomas Cork, ensuring operational excellence, efficient stock management, and exceptional service for both internal and external customers. The role is pivotal in maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and team performance, supporting the store’s overall goal of delivering a world-class customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the stockroom, ensuring all processes, policies, and procedures are effectively implemented and maintained

  • Drive operational efficiency through effective planning, organisation, and process management

  • Manage and motivate the stockroom team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

  • Ensure stock accuracy through regular monitoring of discrepancies, stocktakes, and system reporting

  • Control shrinkage and implement loss prevention strategies to achieve company targets

  • Collaborate with the Multichannel, Buying, and Sales teams to optimise stock flow and maximise customer satisfaction

  • Maintain exceptional merchandising standards, ensuring all stockrooms are organised, safe, and operationally efficient

  • Train, coach, and develop team members, conducting performance reviews and supporting career development

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, security, and data protection procedures at all times

  • Analyse data and system reports to identify opportunities for improvement and inform decision-making

  •  Manage payroll and budget control, ensuring labour and operational costs align with business plans

  •  Deliver clear communication, including daily team briefings, updates on targets, and performance feedback

  • Proven leadership experience in retail operations, logistics, or stockroom management

  • Strong organisational and planning abilities with a keen attention to detail

  • Demonstrated analytical and data-driven decision-making skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels

  • High level of digital literacy, confident using inventory and reporting systems

  • Ability to motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing team

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure

  • Demonstrates resilience, adaptability, and professionalism in a fast-paced environment

  • Committed to ethical practice, confidentiality, and maintaining company standards

  • Passionate about operational excellence and delivering outstanding internal customer service
