Depot Assistant

We are seeking an outgoing and competitive Depot Assistant. We are looking for self motivated people who can work well as part of a team. We would prefer experience in a mechanical plant or engineering background and will offer training for the right person.

Key functions & responsibilities

Skills & competencies

Be the first point of contact for customers visiting the centre

Provide quality, prompt and courteous customers service

Always be well presented and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as required

Provide customers with the required services, such as:

• sale of off-the-shelf products
• sale of custom Pirtek hydraulic hose assemblies
• arranging for technician visits to customer premises
• Log and process jobs through the Pirtek IT system
• Pro-actively promote Pirtek products and services to walk-in customers
• Assist the Centre Manager with stock control, ordering and distribution to the technicians
• To provide assistance to Centre staff within the franchise when requested
• Day to day operation of the sales counter area, ensuring it is kept clean, presentable, well stocked and merchandised at all times

Work experience

• Previous experience in a technical/engineering environment advantageous but not essential

Educational requirements

• Leaving Cert. English and Maths advantageous
