The term of office is for a fixed five-year period, with an opportunity to extend for a further five years. The salary for the role will be €284,943.As the Deputy Governor (Consumer & Investor Protection), the successful candidate will be part of the Executive Leadership Team responsible for implementing the Bank’s strategy and delivering its statutory objectives. They will have specific responsibility for overseeing the regulatory frameworks, policies and initiatives that safeguard the rights and interests of consumers and investors in one of the world’s major financial centres.***Please do not apply via Central Bank links*** See application details below***The RoleReporting to the Governor, and as part of the Executive Leadership Team, the Deputy Governor (Consumer & Investor Protection) will be responsible for:
  • The collective leadership and stewardship of the Central Bank, delivery of the Bank’s strategy and promotion of its culture and Values;
  • Fostering an integrated organisation and a workplace environment and culture that is consistent with the Bank’s Values;
  • Leading and shaping advice to the Governor on a broad range of financial regulation and supervision issues, with specific responsibility for leading the strategic development and execution of consumer and investor protection policies;
  • Chairing and/or attending sub-committees of the Executive Leadership Committee;
  • Engaging with stakeholders, and representing the Bank in domestic and international fora;
  • Providing leadership and guidance to Directors and their teams (as allocated by the Governor);
  • Setting clear directional priorities for the Bank.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Significant experience working at very senior levels in either a financial services regulator, regulated firm, central bank or finance ministry (experience of a combination of these would be particularly desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of domestic and international (particularly European) financial services frameworks, regulatory principles and standards.
  • Strong strategic leadership experience, including in successfully delivering organisational transformation and change.
  • A proven track-record of leadership at senior management level in an organisation of scale with complex and high-profile stakeholder engagement, demonstrating sound judgment on both policy and operational matters.
  • Experience of working collaboratively as part of an executive leadership team committed to delivery of the Bank’s Mission and Vision;
  • An ability to communicate clearly and with impact, and to lead and inspire a team of committed, purpose-led, professionals.
