LEADER Programme 2023 - 2027

Role: Development Officer

South Kerry Development Partnership CLG invites applications for the above position.

The LEADER Programme 2023 – 2027 focuses on promoting growth and jobs in rural areas, developing the rural and bio-economies, digitising the rural economy and promoting social inclusion.

The Development Officer will assist and support the LEADER Programme Coordinator in the implementation of the LEADER Local Development Strategy in South Kerry. The role will involve the implementation of strategic actions to assist in the animation of local enterprise, community & environmental projects, undertaking administration & animation duties including grant application procedures, processing, monitoring & project file maintenance, responding to project administration queries, and programme reporting to the LEADER Programme Coordinator.

Previous experience of LEADER would be an advantage.

Applicants should hold a recognised degree (business, community/rural development, environment) or equivalent professional qualification in an allied field of expertise, possess a thorough understanding of rural development principles & knowledge of EU/National funding requirements, with the ability to work in a stringent regulatory environment and at least 12 months experience of working in the area of community/rural development.

Applicants must hold a current full driving licence and have his/her own car. The position will be based at either 2 Henry Street, Kenmare, 37 High Street, Killarney or Library Place, Killorglin.

Salary Scale: €34,527 to €44,931 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.
