Inviting applications for the role of Consultant , Cybersecurity, Investigations

In this role, you would be responsible for


    Create UNIX, Python utilities to carry out Online investigations

    Monitor network and application performance to identify irregular activity.

    Perform AppSec testing , capture vulnerabilities & threats

    Strong SQL expertise to conduct Database testing for probable data breaches

    Perform regular audits to ensure security practices are compliant

    Create Automation scripts for automated traversing of network , Apps and APIs

    Database analysis & testing.

    Deploy endpoint detection and prevention tools to thwart malicious hacks

    Created & implement patch management systems to update applications automatically

    Incident reporting

    Automate repetitive investigations & Audits, continuous maintenance of frameworks

    Escalate to L3/L4 Support as per standard operating procedures (SOPs)


Minimum qualifications

    2+ years experience with investigations, risk, fraud, trust & safety, cybersecurity or other related fields, or other comparable experience that demonstrates investigative acuity.

Analytical experience in making assessments and solving problems using data, as well as providing practical business insights.

    Knowledge of statistical analysis and tools.

    Experience using a variety of search tools.

    Time management and organizational experience.

    Experience assessing, analyzing and resolving issues.

    Excitement about working in an unstructured environment full of ambiguity and constant change, and willingness to independently problem-solve in it.

    Detective like mentality and feels the “thrill of the hunt”, attention to detail, resiliency

    Self-starters - not just passive receptors of tasks, but proactively driving projects, hunting down answers

    Investigative background - experience with fraud or other types of investigations, have they found bad actors in a space

    Experience conducting online investigations and familiarity with common tools, e.g. how to look up a Whois record, reverse image search, wayback machine, researching business registration records, etc.

    Must demonstrate the ability to pivot from a single indicator, e.g. a website, to interesting users on our platform using a logical set of investigative steps

    Communication skills - written & verbal. Able to communicate internally vs externally, experience distilling large amounts of disparate material into clear and comprehensive analysis

    Research skills or natural hunger for research - detail oriented

    Someone who knows how to work with ambiguity/comfortable driving decisions in loosely defined situations

Technical Skillset

    Scripting experience (R, Python skills)

    Internet & technology experience, knowledge of APIs: basic understanding of how the internet works, e.g. what’s an IP address, how does DNS work, etc.

    Ability to write scripts in command line: unix or ms-dos

    Analytical background in SQL; ability to write advanced queries

    Ability to write regex

    Proficient in Excel (running and creating functions, pivot tables, and charts - prefers Index/Match to vLookup)

    Experience with scraping/data harvesting

    Language skills beyond English.

Preferred qualifications

    BA/BS degree in Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Intelligence Studies, Cyber Security, International Affairs, or other relevant forensic-oriented education.

    Solid track record in Criminal Justice, Computer Science/Forensics, Intelligence, Cyber Security, International Affairs, or other relevant forensic/analysis-oriented work.

    Has used the following technical knowledge/skills in investigations: Application Security, DevSecOps, Hive, PHP, Python, advanced OSINT research methods, and Maltego or other links analysis tools.

    Investigative experience in one or more of the following areas: spam, phishing, malware, account takeover, apps and ads fraud.

    Experience in database infrastructure and writing queries in SQL.

    Influential and willing to push back - negotiation skills

    Experience with policies - whether it be terms & conditions, external or internal policies or regulations

    Military could be good - assessing risk and finding bad actors
