Digital Engagement Executive
Salary
The gross salary scale applicable to the post is €37,173 to €44,311 per annum (Point 5 to Point 13 of the IUA Research Assistant salary scale), effective 01/06/2026.
Hours of WorkThe appointee will be required to work 35 hours per week, together with such additional hours as may be required from time to time for the proper discharge of their duties.
Annual Leave22 days annual leave.
The annual leave year operates from September to August.
Annual leave will be in accordance with arrangements authorised by the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science from time to time.
Key Responsibilities / DutiesThe following indicate some of the principal duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.
Video Production & Editing- Plan, film, edit, and publish video content for digital channels.
- Create short-form and long-form video content for social media, websites, campaigns, and events.
- Add graphics, captions, transitions, music, and branding elements.
- Coordinate interviews, filming schedules, and content shoots.
- Maintain a library of video assets and digital media files.
- Optimise videos for different platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and others.
- Manage photography and photo shoots for various events.
- Develop and manage social media calendars and posting schedules.
- Create engaging written, visual, and video content.
- Monitor audience engagement and respond to comments and messages where appropriate.
- Track analytics and produce performance reports.
- Support campaigns, events, launches, and brand awareness initiatives.
- Stay informed about platform trends and emerging content formats.
- Manage platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), TikTok, and YouTube.
- Design and distribute email newsletters and campaigns.
- Write and edit engaging copy for internal and external audiences.
- Segment mailing lists and maintain subscriber databases.
- Monitor open rates, click-through rates, and engagement metrics.
- Ensure communications align with branding and messaging guidelines.
- Use Mailchimp as the primary email marketing platform.
- Update website content, images, videos, and news items.
- Maintain website accuracy, usability, and accessibility.
- Support SEO optimisation and digital content improvements.
- Coordinate with developers or external vendors when required.
- Monitor website analytics and recommend improvements.
- Work with platforms including WordPress and Webflow.
- Support other Calmast activities and events as required from time to time.
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Communications, Multimedia, Film, or a related field.
- Experience creating and editing video content for digital platforms.
- Experience managing organisational or professional social media accounts.
- Experience updating and managing website content using a Content Management System (CMS).
- Experience creating and editing video content within a STEM environment.
- Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience creating engaging written and visual content.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent storytelling and content development abilities.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and audience engagement.
- Ability to edit and optimise video content for different platforms.
- Understanding of branding and visual consistency.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience with and proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office.
- WordPress.
- Social media scheduling tools.
- Email marketing systems.
- Website content management systems.
- Video editing software.
- Canva or similar design platforms.
