Digital Marketing Executive

The Marketing and Communications Department at SETU leads strategic communications, brand visibility and student recruitment. The team shapes how SETU is seen in Ireland and abroad, ensuring all messaging reflects the university’s values.
The Digital Marketing Executive will roll out the established programme of activity to support key audiences and student recruitment through the creation of graduate and student stories, course-specific stories, web content and day to day PR and social media activity.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the post-holder include:
• Supporting the University’s creation of over 500 stories per annum, the PR and Digital Executive will gather, edit, upload and disseminate stories, liaising with staff across the University to create powerful content in line with core objectives
• Developing and implementing a process to create more video, audio and podcast stories with a focus on student recruitment initially
• Providing content support for student recruitment and other University campaigns to include undergraduate, postgraduate, lifelong learning and international markets as well as faculty/school, department and unit
• Develop engaging content with a focus on driving traffic to course webpages and other University webpages dependent on campaign
• Working with the wider marketing, web and outreach team to develop collateral to meet strategic marketing and communications goals
• Collaborate with the Webmaster and digital team to improve how content is shared across SETU’s online and social channels
• Champion high-quality content and train staff in faculties, schools and departments to produce strong stories and updates
• Plan and deliver multi-channel digital campaigns across Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, email (Mailchimp) and SMS
• Collaborate with internal teams to promote events, courses and initiatives, and maintain a steady content pipeline to guide audiences through the funnel
• Monitor campaign performance using Google Analytics, Tag Manager and platform insights; prepare reports on KPIs including engagement, conversions and traffic
• Maintain a detailed digital marketing calendar of events and campaigns to ensure timely, coordinated activity across all channels
• Support wider corporate PR and communications activity as needed, ensuring alignment with university-wide messaging and maintaining a consistent brand voice across all external communications
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Marketing & Communications Manager and/or other Senior Management
Person Specification
Academic Qualifications
• An honours degree (minimum 2.2) in a related area such as PR, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or Business
Professional Qualifications
Experience
• At least three years’ experience working in a digital marketing role with proven track record in managing paid campaigns
• Experience creating and editing video
• Experience using social media platforms in a work context
Specific knowledge and skills
• Strong, proven writing skills
• Strong communication skills
• Strong project management and organisational skills
• Excellent attention to detail, editing and proofreading skills
• Possess a satisfactory knowledge or experience of office organisation
I.T. Skills
• Proficiency in use of computer applications, specifically Microsoft Office applications to include databases, spreadsheets, word processing, PowerPoint etc.
• Video editing software

Salary: The gross salary scale applicable to this post is €51,723 - €61,864 per annum (as at 01/08/2025).
