Digital Services Technical Assistant
Salary: SCP 3; £24,307 per annum (pro rata); £12.60 per hour Main Purpose of the Job: Assist in a busy ICT Department, providing technical support as well as carrying out related ICT duties. Main Duties of the post: • Assist with the provision of 1st line support and training for Council Employees and Members (Councillors) • Assist with the configuration, deployment and maintenance of all desktop systems, including printers and mobile devices. • Assist with the management of the content of the Councils Websites and intranet • Log calls and arrange engineer support in the event of a software/hardware malfunction. • Maintain appropriate stock control of consumable supplies. • Conduct regular audits to ensure the integrity of ICT systems. • Maintain an inventory of ICT equipment, software and peripherals. • Setup, maintain and troubleshoot smart devices (iOS and Android) • Other duties within the context of the post which may be allocated from time to time.

The postholder will be expected to be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs and requirements of the organisation. Person Specification Essential Criteria: Available to commence the 12-month term – 2 days per week – from Tuesday 3rd June 2025 until Friday 5th June 2026. Days will be agreed on appointment Education – GCSE in Maths, English and Computing (Grade C or above) and a qualification (or working towards) a post-secondary school computing qualification Ability to troubleshoot mobile devices – phones and tablets from both the iOS and Android platforms Competence in the use of Microsoft 365 E-mail Management. Ability to troubleshoot PC, Laptop, mobile devices, printers and internet issues.
