Our Climate Capital segment is central to the delivery of these ambitious targets, investing in large scale renewables and infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK, Europe and North America. This is the fastest growing area of the bank’s loan book.
This is a unique opportunity for experienced individuals to join this high performing, ambitious team, as we build out our international platform and directly contribute to global climate action goals. We have exciting plans to expand our team at pace.
As a Climate Capital Director the candidate will be responsible for leading out and developing strategy across our activities and will also be an important member of the leadership team. You will have a close working relationship with the Capital Markets teams and Group supports, particularly Credit, Risk and Business Operations.
Key accountabilities;
- Manage an existing portfolio of credit exposures within the credit policy framework of the Bank, coordinating workstreams and allocating staff to ensure best in class portfolio and risk management.
- Drive the continuous development of process improvement, portfolio insight and efficiency within the business.
- You will be responsible for identifying market changes and future trends as the Climate Capital portfolio evolves, including market developments, changes to regulation and potential threats to the credit quality of the portfolio.
- Build appropriate controls and procedures within the business. Drive risk management culture and adherence to codes of conduct, law, and regulation.
- Lead high engagement levels across the unit. Develop and motivate the team to consistently deliver results and build and implement a people strategy to attract, retain and develop people within the unit.
- Build and continuously refine a culture of customer and credit excellence.
- Engage directly, build, and develop relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external and represent the business and AIB in this highly visible and dynamic market.
- You will be recognised in the market as an expert in energy, infrastructure and banking and will have regular interactions with CEOs, CFOs and Senior Partners in Legal, Advisory, Funds and Private Equity Houses.
- Ensure compliance and administration obligations are satisfied to a high degree.
- Collaborate with other parts of AIB including AIB UK, Treasury and Operations Teams
