Our dedicated teams provide personalized rehabilitation programs for adults and children in specialties such as:

  • Acquired Brain Injury
  • Stroke Rehabilitation
  • Spinal Cord Injury Care
  • Prosthetic, Orthotic, and Limb Absence Rehabilitation (POLAR)
  • Paediatric Family-Centred Rehabilitation

With the completion of Phase I of our New Hospital project, we now offer a modern, patient-centred facility designed to meet the highest standards of care. Looking ahead, Phases II and III will further expand our services, increase bed capacity, and enhance our clinical and support facilities. As Director of Estates and Facilities, you will lead the NRH Hospital capital redevelopment strategy and transition planning, manage teams for capital projects and facilities. Contribute to strategic planning and change leadership. Provide expertise in building, project management and allied services. Continuously review and innovate services within budget, ensuring quality and value.

1-Qualifications:

  • Significant senior management experience in leading and managing complex capital and operational projects.
  • Experience of budget planning, financial management and resource management
  • Experience in working collaboratively with senior stakeholders, partners and contractors to ensure that the impact and delivery of capital and operational projects are maximised.
  • Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
  • A sound background in and knowledge of the Health Services Sector including Estates and Facilities Management.
  • Relevant 3rd level professional qualification.

2-Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize patient care in all hospital activities.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Management Team to achieve the hospital's mission, vision, values, and strategic plan.
  • Support the hospital's goal to be the leading employer in Health Services.
  • Engage in continuing education and research.
  • Oversee and complete hospital-wide programs and projects.
  • Enhance patient care and staff satisfaction through effective building services management.
  • Promote open communication within the hospital.
  • Manage quality, safety, and accreditation for buildings and facilities.
  • Develop partnerships with healthcare organizations, HSE, funding agencies, educational institutions, and the community.
  • Ensure day-to-day security of the work area, with attention to fire regulations and security.
  • Stay updated on construction methods, legislation, and pursue professional development (CPD).
  • Embrace change and adapt local work practices, develop junior staff for succession planning, and monitor and improve service efficiency.

3-Experience and Skills:

  • Understanding of Health Services structure and funding for rehabilitation services.
  • Knowledge and understanding in complex rehabilitation services.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance in healthcare building design and implementation in Ireland.
  • Proficiency in public procurement processes.
  • Experience in internal and external stakeholder collaboration for development, management and delivery.
  • Skills in managing procurement at national (OGP) and European (OJEU) levels.
  • Familiarity with Neurorehabilitation Strategy infrastructure projects.
  • Competence in Capital Planning, including budgets and audits.
  • Ability to implement change in the Irish public health service.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams for complex projects.
  • Expertise in contract and third-party supplier management.
  • Excellent ICT and report writing skills.
