DIRECTOR OF ESTATES

Full-Time, Permanent Contract

St. Michael’s House has a research partnership with UCD and runs QQI accredited programmes of education up to and including Honours Degree Level through its Open Training College.

The Role

The Director of Estates will be responsible for the planning and development associated with the Approved Housing Bodies (AHB) with St. Michael's House AHB, all properties maintenance and transport of St. Michael's House in accordance with all buildings/health and safety regulations to the highest possible standards in the context of the needs of the development service.

4. Fire Safety

5. Energy Performance

6. Transport

Direct reports to Director of Estates:

  • Chief Assistant Technical Services Officer
  • Head of Technical Services
  • Projects Manager
  • Fire Officer
  • Housing Manager x 2

Overall staff compliment in the Estates Directorate – 53

REQUIREMENTS

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree and/or appropriate professional qualifications/membership in relevant property, design, build environment, construction, engineering, surveying or technical discipline or demonstration of relevant experience

Desirable Qualifications

  • Post graduate qualification in a relevant business discipline

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience at a senior level in leading large operational teams and property projects & programmes, including experience of procurement, programme management and budget management of large value schemes to time and cost.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to explain the impact of technical issues on viability
  • Detailed understanding of the range of technical issues related to health service, estates and facilities management
  • Experience in developing strategies for overcoming issues
  • Have a substantial and explicit track record of accomplishment at a Senior Management level for a period not less than three years
  • Successful track record of delivering large scale projects
  • Excellent in MS packages e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in a comparable role within the Health Services setting, or similar setting.

REMUNERATION

HSE Grade General Manager pt.1: €84,898 to pt.7: €105,604

Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above.
