An incredible opportunity has arisen at Mount Juliet Estate, operating under the prestigious Autograph Collection, a Marriott International brand, for the position of HR Director. This role entails both hands-on and strategic leadership, providing guidance to the established existing HR team.

The Director of Human Resources Manager (DOHR) is an essential part of Mount Juliet Estate's Management Team and integral in assisting the property to identify and reach its strategic goals through the alignment of company objectives and HR strategies including the recruitment; strengthening and development of a first class team, brand and culture, capable of and committed to delivering the Company’s goals and values.

The DOHR will be responsible for all day to day HR/IR matters, will bridge management and employee relations at property level and will also communicate with Owners on all HR/IR related matters,

Part of the duties of this role will be to identify, investigate, report and address any noncompliance issues.

Role's primary responsibilities will be :

  • To continually review and ensure property wide compliance with company policy and procedures, employment law and other relevant legislation and regulations, including but not limited to related aspects of payroll, health and safety, data protection, etc
  • To analyse, risk assess and provide and implement solution driven strategies to HR/IR issues at Mount Juliet, seeking guidance and co-ordination from Group where appropriate
  • To provide advice, coaching and counselling to HODs and Management Team in all aspects of HR and related issues
  • To personally conduct or co-ordinate all aspects of the HR function. Including but not limited to recruitment, contract management, 1-2-ls, performance management, absence management, conflict resolution, grievance management, Investigations and disciplinary hearings, counselling sessions, EAP referrals and preparation of defence of any claims and representation of the company
  • In WRC, LC and other employment/IR related matters etc - this is a hands on role
  • To be responsible for the effective administration and management of the HR function and all aspects of the employment lifecycle (eg from recruitment and selection, reference checking, contracting, onboarding, induction, through to existing) and related matters and ensure acceptable audit standards are met
  • To ensure appropriate, robust work systems and processes are in place in accordance with company standards to support the smooth, organised operation and development of the HR function, including. If required, the implementation of any IT system or upgrade required, time management system, record retention and cleansing (digitally and manually) and filing etc
  • To lead, assist and deliver where required in the recruitment, selection and development, evaluation, performance management, retention and succession planning processes
  • To develop and promote Mount Juliet's standing as an employer brand of choice and to build relations with relevant third parties such as colleges, government bodies, agencies, job fairs and brand presence online etc
  • To identify, analyse, devise and ensure delivery of an appropriate training and learning and development programme
  • To ensure appropriate compensation and benefits management
  • To ensure budgetary knowledge and expense management in all relevant areas
  • Turnover and absence and other relevant data analysis
  • Employee recognition, rewards and social and CSR activities, eg employee of the month/year, newsletter communications, social activities
  • Employee engagement and relationship building, eg. develop employee representative committee and host regular meetings on same, consider employee survey, teambuilding and welfare programmes etc
  • To foster a harmonious, safe, respectful and productive work environment with a culture of team spirit, flexibility, pride and delivery of our vision and values at its core
  • To be an integral part of the management team, actively participating in operations and rosters If required and being aware of operational Issues and commercial and other factors as they may affect HR, and attending or representing management at meetings as required
  • To be an ambassador for Mount Juliet at all times

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years previous experience in leadership HR roles, at a senior level in both strategic and operational capacity
  • Strong knowledge of Irish Employment Role
  • Experienced in driving change and transformational programmes.
  • Experience in building partnerships, coaching and influencing leaders, and acting as a trusted advisor.

Desirable:

  • Experience in leading HR within a hotel environment
  • CIPD Chartered member status
  • Experience in working with diverse teams and driving D&I initiatives
  • Experience with Employer Branding
