We're looking for a compassionate and dedicated Director of Quality, Safety & Risk to join our dynamic Quality Team, where person-centred care is at the heart of everything we do.
About the Role:
As Director of Quality, Safety & Risk, you will ensure that every aspect of ABI Ireland’s work reflects the Organisation’s commitment to high-quality, person-centred services. By leading the quality, safety and risk agenda, you will champion a culture where the needs, rights and experiences of each person served guide decision-making and continuous improvement. You will oversee compliance across governance, fundraising, Health & Safety, GDPR and regulatory standards, while also driving the development of a best-in-class quality and safety programme. Through close collaboration with clinical and non-clinical teams, you will provide strong operational leadership to enhance service quality, strengthen risk management, and improve safety outcomes, ensuring that organisational systems consistently support people to live with dignity, autonomy and confidence.
The contract available is Permanent, Full-Time, 35 hours.
The role will be hybrid, with the expectation of traveling to National Office in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin and across our services nationwide.
The salary scale is €77823 - €93863 - DOE.
What You'll Be Doing:
· Strategic Leadership – a passion for high-quality service delivery and providing a positive workplace for staff and in keeping with ABI Ireland’s compassionate and progressive care model
· Quality Improvement – continuous improvement and management of an effective quality system and framework in ABI Ireland, which complies with relevant accreditation and regulatory standards across all front line and support functions in the Organisation
· Risk Management – assume the responsibility for identifying, assessing, and developing strategies to mitigate potential risks that may impact the Organisation
· Health & Safety – ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and legislation, policies and relevant external requirements throughout the Organisation
· Policy Development – develop, manage, disseminate and review organisational policies, procedures and guidelines for all services, ensuring strict version control and review mechanisms are in place

Who We're Looking For:
We are looking for a strategic, values-driven leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional, person-centred services. You will bring strong expertise in quality, safety, risk and compliance, along with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, meaningful improvements for the people we support. You will thrive in a collaborative environment, guiding teams with clarity and purpose while championing a culture of learning, accountability and continuous improvement.
Must Haves:
· Honours Degree (level 8) in relevant professional or health management discipline
· Minimum 3-years’ experience working in the area of brain injury rehabilitation with excellent knowledge and understanding of Quality Systems and HIQA regulations
· Minimum 3-years’s at senior grade in a leadership role managing staff, and extensive liaison internally and externally
· Knowledge of data protection law and practices and the ability to fulfil the tasks referred to in Article 39
· Ability to demonstrate leadership and direction, critical analysis and decision making, personal effectiveness and experience in delivering outcomes
· Demonstrated expertise in Quality Safety and Risk Management
· Proven record in effectively managing teams and overseeing large-scale transformation projects in quality, safety and risk management on organisation wide basis
Great to Have:
· Post graduate qualification in a relevant quality and risk management/business discipline
