Main Purpose of Job
As a member of the Council’s Senior Management Team, the postholder will contribute to and work within the Council’s policies to provide leadership in the development and implementation of strategies focussed on the delivery of the strategic objectives of Council.
The postholder will lead, direct and manage the Directorate and ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and effectively within existing resources.
The postholder will be required to put in place and implement appropriate systems for ensuring statutory compliance across the Directorate and for providing the necessary assurances to the Chief Executive on all aspects of the Directorate’s work.
The postholder will be required to attend Council and Committee Meetings as necessary, and will be the lead officer responsible for supporting and reporting to the Environmental Services Committee and co-ordinating the delivery of all reports and necessary actions arising from this Committee.
