Job Summary:
The Dispatch Operative will be responsible for the day-to-day function of the CBK food dispatch activity. This role is a highly focused on food dispatching. A Dispatch Operative is responsible for the accurate, efficient, and safe preparation and loading of food products for customer delivery. Working in the final stage of the production line, this role ensures products are correctly packed to the store’s crates, working efficiently in fast-paced in the chilled environments. Requires attention to detail, teamwork, and manual dexterity.
Responsibilities:
- Picking customer orders accurately, assembling, and preparing finished goods for transport in line with production schedules.
- Safely preparation, loading and unloading delivery crates. Labelling crates, ensuring they meet quality specifications and are properly organized.
- Monitoring product quality, ensuring no damaged or incorrect goods are dispatched.
- Adhering to strict Food Safety, HACCP, and Health & Safety regulations, including keeping the dispatch area clean and tidy and organize.
- Adhere to hygiene standards (PPE required, such as hairnets, bear snood, gloves, coats, safety shoes, jackets, hats & gloves).
- Completing all necessary paperwork, such as delivery dockets and stock levels checks for stock movements and traceability.
- Follow stock rotation and FIFO (First-In, First-Out) to ensures perishable goods are dispatched before expiration.
- Move packed goods to shelves, racks, crates or storage areas.
Requirements:
- Good numeracy and literacy skills for checking orders, stock rotation, and documentation.
- High attention to detail, ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, and strong team-working abilities. Ability to spot quality issues and follow exact specifications.
- Work effectively with colleagues and report faults to supervisors.
- Strong work ethic with a focus on punctuality and attendance.
- Requires no formal experience (entry-level), with on-the-job training provided.
· Ability to handle repetitive, manual lifting of items in chilled/cold environments.
· Availability to work late evening shift (2pm – 11pm) Monday - Saturday.
