The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join Almac Clinical Services and play a key role in supporting the Depot Manager – Global Depot Network in the day-to-day management of the UK-based Distribution Depot office team in Craigavon. The Distribution Depot Team Leader will coordinate, support and develop depot activities in line with business needs, while providing leadership across operational delivery, people management and absence management.

On a daily basis, you will act as a key link between internal teams and external parties to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and successfully delivered. You’ll also provide a focal point for critical operational matters, supporting issue resolution, escalation and communication across the depot network and Almac sites.

Key areas of focus will include:

  • Leading and supporting the Distribution Depot office staff to ensure daily operational matters are managed effectively and efficiently
  • Working cross-functionally with internal departments and divisions to provide technical support and resolve operational issues
  • Supporting Business Development by maintaining continuity of courier and depot RFI/RFQ generation systems
  • Contributing to depot network development, including support for new depot set-up activity and vendor technical agreements
  • Driving visibility and continuous improvement through reporting, trend analysis and process improvement initiatives
  • Representing the department in customer meetings and producing/presenting customer KPIs
  • Managing key administrative deliverables, including monthly summary and activity reporting across Almac facilities and supporting performance assessment and holiday planning for direct reports

What you need to be successful

To be considered for this opportunity, we’re looking for candidates with significant experience in a similar role and proven ability to lead and support a team in a distribution/logistics environment.

Essential criteria includes:

  • Third level qualification and significant experience in a similar role
  • Proven recent personnel management experience
  • Working knowledge of distribution, shipping and inventory management
  • Strong IT proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentational) and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high attention to detail

Additional role requirements:

  • Ability to meet international travel requirements (15%+ per year) and work beyond normal working hours where required
  • Valid passport
