Purpose of the Post:
The Director of Nursing, Integrated and Community Care is a key strategic leadership post in advancing and aligning high-quality integrated and community care services throughout the region. This post involves contributing to the development and implementation of integrated and community care pathways/models across the region and leading service transformation to support care delivery closer to home aligned with HSE Sláintecare principles.
The Director of Nursing, Integrated and Community Care will act a key liaison between the Regional Director of Nursing and Midwifery and nursing and midwifery staff and will provide assurances for the development and delivery of integrated nursing and midwifery services across the region, strengthening multidisciplinary working and supporting effective transitions of care enhancing system-wide collaboration and ensure consistency in nursing and midwifery service delivery across the region.

Each candidate must at the latest date of application:

a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
(i) Are registered, or are eligible for registration, in the Nurse and/or Midwife Division of th Register (General, Midwives, Children’s, Intellectual Disability, Psychiatric, Public Health Nursing) maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).
And
(ii) Have 10 years post registration nursing experience and 5 years nursing management experience at a minimum of CNM/CMM 2 level of which 3 must have been at a senior strategic level within a large healthcare setting.
And
(iii) Have successfully completed a post registration programme of study, as certified by the education provider, which verified that the applicant has achieved a National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 8 (MSc) or higher award maintained by Quality & Qualifications of Ireland (QQI) or can provide written evidence from the Higher Education Institute that they have achieved the number of ECTS credits equivalent to a Level 8 or higher in a health care management related area.
And
(b) Candidates must possess the requisite clinical, leadership, managerial and administrative knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

(c) Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development.
Annual Registration
Please note that appointment to and continuation in posts that require statutory registration is dependent upon the post holder maintaining annual registration in the relevant division of the register maintained by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).
And
Practitioners must confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
Health
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character
Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character
Post Specific Requirements:
Demonstrate depth and breadth of senior experience working in a senior leadership operational role that involves strategic planning and development for integrated and community care across a large healthcare setting/network.
