There is currently a one permanent wholetime vacancy within the Dublin and Midlands Region
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Director of Nursing (Band 2), Regional Vaccination Programme from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.
The specified location to be agreed on appointment within the Dublin & Midlands Health Region.
Purpose of Post
The Director of Nursing 2, Regional Vaccination Programme will provide senior clinical leadership to assist in the planning, management, and delivery of a person centred, clinically effective and safe vaccination programme informed by best evidence and population needs assessment throughout the region.
The Director of Nursing 2, Regional Vaccination Programme will be responsible for providing strategic, professional and clinical leadership and guidance for the professional practice of nursing staff working within a multidisciplinary team within the vaccination programme and in supporting the implementation and future integration of the vaccination programme in the Dublin and Midlands region.

Eligibilty Criteria - Qualifications and/or Experience
Candidates must have at the latest date of application: -
1.Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc
(a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
(i) Are registered, or are eligible for registration, in the Nurse and/or Midwife Division of the Register (General, Midwives, Children’s, Intellectual Disability, Psychiatric, Public Health Nursing) maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann)
And
(ii) Have 10 years post registration nursing and midwifery experience and 5 years nursing/midwifery management experience at a minimum of Clinical Nurse/Midwife Manager 2 (CNM2/CMM2) level of which 3 must have involved working in a senior leadership role engaging at executive level.
And
(iii) Have successfully completed a post registration programme of study as certified by the education provider which verifies that the applicant has achieved a National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 8 or higher award maintained by Quality & Qualifications of Ireland (QQI) or can provide written evidence from the Higher Education Institute that they have achieved the number of ECTS credits equivalent to a Level 8 or higher in a health care or management related area
And
b) Candidates must possess the requisite clinical, leadership, managerial and administrative knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
And
(c) Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development.
1.Annual Registration
(i) Practitioners must maintain live annual registration in the General Nurse Division, and other divisions as relevant to the specific service, of the Register of Nurses and Midwives, as appropriate, maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).
And
(ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
Please note that appointment to and continuation in posts that require statutory registration is dependent upon the post holder maintaining annual registration in the relevant division of the register maintained by Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland)

- Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience as a senior leader in the operational delivery and management in a dynamic and changing environment.
- · Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience of leading and coordinating teams of staff in a dynamic and changing environment.
