Details of Service

The Laois Offaly Community Palliative Care Service provides Specialist Palliative Care support to service users and their families/caregivers in counties Laois and Offaly. This includes service users in residential care settings.

The Laois/Offaly palliative care service is a five-day service with weekend service for planned essential calls in the patient’s place of residence. This may be the patient’s home, community hospital or private nursing home. In the community, the specialist palliative care team work closely with the General Practitioner, Public Health Nurse, community hospitals and nursing homes. Future developments for the service are in line with the national service plan 2025.
