Job Purpose

The Donor Marketing Executive is a strong copywriter and storyteller who creates insightful and inspiring communications, including postal campaigns and updates, email content and digital advertising. The purpose of these communications is to keep donors updated about the work that Barnardos is doing to support children and families, and to inspire donors to continue supporting Barnardos.

This could involve writing a story to feature in a mailing or newsletter, or collating pictures or videos to share in an email or online advertising campaign.

The successful candidate should be comfortable and confident building relationships, as the role involves liaising internally with colleagues across Barnardos services throughout Ireland, while also providing excellent donor care on a day-to-day basis. This may be in person, over the phone, or via email. Barnardos is proud of the high standard of donor care it provides and values the positive feedback received from donors.

The person should also be comfortable working with data and making informed decisions based on donor insights, including audience segmentation and campaign performance. Regular reporting and campaign analysis are an important part of the role.

The position also has a particular focus on acquiring new cash donors to grow Barnardos’ existing donor database.
