Job Purpose

Salary: From €35,090 per annum

The Donor Marketing Executive will play a critical role in providing Oxfam Ireland supporters with the best experience possible, encouraging donor retention to maximise lifetime value and engagement whilst consistently putting our donors at the heart of everything we do.

The post holder will be an experienced fundraising professional with exceptional knowledge of best practices in administration and marketing. Relevant experience in Direct Marketing, an understanding of Project Management principals, and the ability to work effectively to meet multiple deadlines would be essential to succeed in this role.

Would suit a proactive, self-starter with the ability to take ownership of a campaign from inception to completion. A friendly and clear communicator, motivated by excellence of service and an understanding of donor relationship development would suit this position. A clear understanding of database management is required. Attention to detail, the ability to think strategically, and problem-solving skills are essential attributes.

Key activities

Donor Relationship Management:

• Increase engagement, value and retention rates through excellent supporter stewardship and the implementation of bespoke onboarding communications for our audience segments.• Collaborate with stakeholders to devise and implement best practice thanking, banking and donor loyalty enhancing initiatives.• Support the first point of contact, handling supporter/donor queries, whether through telephone, email, or post.• Management of donor care administration and financial processes to achieve KPIs in donor acknowledgement and financial compliance.• Supervise the role of Donor Care Assistant and, where necessary, provide cover for their essential tasks.

Direct Marketing:

• Development of fundraising appeals and campaigns, including copywriting and reviewing, overseeing designs, reviewing data proofs and lasers, organising postage and managing the budget effectively.• Data segmentation and personalisation.

Fundraising:

• Work collaboratively with the Single Giving Manager to identify and implement strategies to increase donation value and frequency, reactivating donors and recruiting new donors.• Implementing, managing, reporting, and maximising the recruitment of donors to the tax-effective giving scheme.• Support implementation of community and events fundraising.• Foster strong teamwork and collaboration across department, and with all teams cross organisationally.

Project Management:

• Implement, manage, and report on the tax-efficient giving programme to maximise income.• Support the Single Giving Manager in implementing successful fundraising appeals and campaigns.• Experience in donor relationship management, in response to fundraising activities, communications and events.• Ability to work on multiple projects with various deadlines simultaneously.• Management of key stakeholders, consulting with colleagues and suppliers to introduce system and process improvements.

Data Management:

• Ability to ensure high quality and accurate data inputting.• Work with colleagues to maintain data quality on the donor database, with regular quality checks and reporting.• Comply with all policies, procedures, legal and regulatory requirements, including GDPR and PCI compliance.

Person Specification

Essential:

• Demonstrable experience in a fundraising role for at least one year.• Relevant experience and understanding of key administrative/executive tasks in a donor/customer/client service environment for at least two years.• Experience in processing and managing high volumes of data, testing, tracking and report writing.• Sound communications skills (verbal and written) and the ability to interact with supporters and fellow staff in a friendly and personable manner.• Ability to operate with a commercial perspective, appreciating the importance of using data and insight to support business.• Proven track record of working to deadlines and demonstrable ability to use initiative and time management and planning tools and adapt to a heavy workload and interruptions.• Experience in developing strategic workplans.• Reporting and analytical skills.• Computer literacy, including a good working knowledge of MS Office.• Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database experience.• Eligibility to work in Ireland/UK.

Desirable:

• Flexible in working hours as required.• Knowledge of Oxfam and commitment to Oxfam's values and ethos.• Understanding of Decolonial Fundraising Approaches.• Experience creating media plans to support campaigns across a mix of channels; post, email, digital, radio, shops network.

This post involves working as part of a team in a busy office environment. Staff are required to have a degree of flexibility in their work and attitude, to co-operate with colleagues to ensure the efficient, effective, and economic use of Oxfam’s resources.
