We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Driver/Care Assistant to join our team in Co.Kerry.

Contract Type: Specified Purpose – 1 year

Contract Hours: 25 hours per week (morning, evenings and weekends)

Salary Scale: €34,100 to €39,626 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)

Annual Leave Entitlement: 30 days pro rata per annum

Overview of the Post:

To provide support to a specific female adult Service Owner to enable her to participate in her community, increase her own personal independence, achieve person centred goals and facilitate inclusion. The worker will provide practical, personal and social support to the individual.

Overview of Duties & Responsibilities:

· Working under the direction of the Adult Services Coordinator/ Manager to provideperson-centred support to a specific Service Owner.

· Working in partnership with the Service Owner to facilitate her active involvement inthe development and achievement of personal goals.

· Assisting with all activities of daily living; personal care, session support, drivingduties and dealing with any other special needs of the Service Owner. •Assisting with transport needs by being available to drive the Service Owner’s vehicles.

· Responsible for the general well-being of the Service Owner whilst in attendance.

· Supporting the Service Owner within the home, community, service centre and virtualsetting.

· To promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of the Service Owner at alltimes.

· Develop, participate and contribute to the Person Centred Planning and keyworking process in line with the National New Directions Policy and Guidelines

The successful candidate will have

Essential Criteria:

· Qualification in relevant Health Care/Social Care (QQI level 5) or willingness to be supported in completing this training (FETAC level 5/QQI) within the first 12 months of employment.

· Experience of working with Adults with physical, sensory and neurological disabilities.

· Full Clean drivers Licence

· Knowledge of Person Centred Approaches.

· A good understanding of Health and Safety.

· Knowledge of how to support in therapeutic, educational, employment and social activities within community setting.

· Knowledge of social, cognitive and emotional development for People with Disabilities.

Desirable Criteria:

· Minimum of 1 years’ experience working as a Health Care Assistant.

· Experience of working in a keyworking role with Adults.

· Experience & ability to support individual with personal/intimate care needs.

· Experience & ability to support individuals with eating, drinking and swallowing needs.
