PERMANENT PART-TIME BUS DRIVER

CHILDREN’S/TRANSPORT SERVICES

A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Locum Bus Driver appointments within the Transport Services may be made over the next 6 months.

The Role:

Minibus Driver/Porter.

Location:

Children’s Services / Transport Services.

Reporting To:

Transport Manager/Children’s Sector Manager/Children Service Coordinator or delegate.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have received a good general education and hold a full clean manual Irish Drivers Licence – Class D1. Candidates must have completed their CPC examinations/modules and must hold the CPC Qualification Card. This must be available at interview.

Experience:

Candidates must have adequate training and driving experience to enable him/her to carry out satisfactorily the duties of the post.

Experience of working with people with an intellectual disability is an advantage.

Tenure:

This post is permanent, part-time and pensionable.

Driver’s employment is subjective to continuity of BOCSI as a Bus Eireann contractor.

Working Hours:

50 hours per fortnight. Hours will be mainly rostered Monday to Friday. However, weekend and evening work may be required from time to time. The shifts may vary due to the changing needs of the people supported.

The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.

Annual Leave:

22 days pro-rata per annum.

Remuneration:

HSE salary scales - Driver (Patients/Clients Public Roads) salary scale (01/03/2025) - €35,434 x 8 increments - €44,539 pro-rata per annum.

Probation:

A probationary period of 9 months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion.

Driving Assessment:

Applicants may be required to undergo a Minibus Driving assessment by an Assessor nominated by the Brothers of Charity Services.
