There is currently 0.5 WTE permanent, part time vacancy available in Dublin South West and 1 WTE permanent, whole time vacancy in Dublin West.
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.
Purpose of the Post
The role of the CNM2 infant feeding/lactation will differ according to population needs within community healthcare services.
The purpose of this CNM2 post is to strive for improvements in breastfeeding outcomes; an increase in the number of babies exclusively breastfeeding and a decrease in the percentage partially breastfeeding
- The post holder will liaise between maternity services and public health nursing services to coordinate and deliver an effective lactation support service throughout the breastfeeding continuum (ante natal to extended postnatal period).
- They will provide professional and clinical leadership to public health nurses, whose primary role is to deliver skilled breastfeeding support to mothers and babies.
- In partnership with the maternity services CNM 2 Infant Feeding/Lactation post holder(s), they will provide multidisciplinary education and breastfeeding skills training within nursing/midwifery services across public health nursing, maternity and paediatric settings.
- This post is predominately working within primary care but will involve liaison and working in an integrated manner with the maternity services CNM 2 infant feeding post holder(s), community based services and voluntary breastfeeding groups.
