Weltec Engineering is a leading provider of Mechanical & Electrical contracting services in Ireland. We are currently seeking an experienced EHS Officer to join our team and contribute to our client project in the Leixlip area.

The EHS Officer will collaborate closely with the EHS Manager/Site Project Manager to ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations throughout project execution. This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact by implementing best practices, conducting audits, and fostering a culture of safety excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to ensure project compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
  • Develop Method Statements and Risk Assessments in coordination with supervisors/foremen.
  • Conduct EHS audits and Accident/Incident investigations, implementing corrective and preventive measures.
  • Provide guidance to Project Management on site-specific EHS best practices.
  • Plan and deliver Toolbox Talks, to promote a safety-oriented culture.
  • Report on EHS performance metrics as required.
  • Actively promote and enforce company EHS policies and procedures.
  • Implement client/company permitting requirements.
  • Provide site specific training where required.
  • Provide support to the EHS department and collaborate with fellow EHS Officers as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Level 7 or level 8 qualification in Health and Safety is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of proven experience as an EHS Officer in a construction environment (Intel experience is preferred).
  • Experience in Principal Contractor and PSCS roles would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with high-compliance environments such as Data Centers, Pharma, Med/Tech, or similar industries.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Management Systems, including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
  • Knowledge of EIDA systems
  • Proactive mindset with a customer-focused approach.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Word and Excel.
