Location: Athlone, Co Westmeath

Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday.

Status: Full Time, Permanent

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Control and instrumentation technician to join our expanding team.

This position will be responsible for working within the Engineering department to ensure that all site and plant facilities are maintained in accordance with Electrical, Control and Instrumentation statutory requirements and industry best practice whilst driving improvements across the site. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary project team they will plan carefully, carry out their work safely and document and communicate their works accurately to their supervisor.

This job offers a lot of variety and we are looking for a multiskilled technician with electrical and mechanical experience.

In this position your key responsibilities will include:

· Maintenance and inspection on L.V. electrical systems and electrical machinery including those within ATEX zones.

· Maintenance, inspection and calibration of various types of process control instrumentation equipment such as transmitters, controllers, analysers, etc.

· Involvement in projects - includes assisting in areas such as design through to commissioning.

· Engagement with contractors.

· Maintenance and development of PLC control systems.

· Development of maintenance systems on site.

· Further develop site maintenance and inspection procedures.

· Ensure compliance with requirements for statutory electrical inspections and ISO standards.

· Ensure plant and site repairs/maintenance are carried in such a way to ensure continued safe operation.

· Ensure responsibilities within Process Safety are adhered to.

· Ensure that their training requirements are up to date and in line with Trackwise metrics for compliance.

· Adhere to the appropriate use of PPE on site.

To be successful in this position you will possess:

· Qualifications to IEC 60364 or local equivalent (BS7671 / ET101).

· ATEX systems Process equipment/instrumentation calibration.

Essential Criteria:- Applicants must have eligibility to work in Ireland or possess a valid work permit that will enable full time employment.
