  • To ensure the hospitals electrical infrastructure is compliant with all applicable legislation, standards & statutory obligations both from a design and maintenance perspective.
  • Help prepare electrical service designs and manage the electrical infrastructure across the hospital campus.
  • Play a leading Engineering role in the development of the Hospitals Facilities & Engineering Infrastructure through the implementation of appropriate actions to achieve corporate and service delivery objectives.
  • Support the implementation of business continuity plans, energy/sustainability initiatives and infrastructure management programs to support strategic facilities planning.
  • Be responsible for the effective management of budgetary allocations for Specific works assigned by the Director of Estates and Facilities. Ensuing Compliance with financial, audit and procurement regulations.
  • Coordinate & support the Maintenance Manager to eliminate electrical infrastructural non-compliance technical and engineering issues in a timely manner to ensure conformance with the relevant service level agreements
  • Provide support with electrical training programmes as deemed necessary. Play a leading role in developing effective systems and procedures so as to ensure appropriate oversight and governance of the hospital’s electrical infrastructure.
  • Liaise & coordinate with statutory bodies, the hospitals electrical team, the hospitals Project team and external service providers as required.
  • Provide regular information and reports on the performance of the Electrical infrastructure, its capabilities, identify potential infrastructure deficits & improvement programs.
  • Develop, implement, monitor and review standard operational procedures Required by statute & best practice guidelines.
  • Provide support in developing and fostering a proactive Health & Safety culture having regard to Legislative requirements.
  • Provide support to the capital development programmes, minor capital Works & liaise with applicable groups/committees as required.
  • Assist in the procurement and appointment of design teams, professional services and contractors.
  • Provide project management support as required whilst managing project programs and budgets.
  • Provide support in developing commissioning & testing procedures for the Estates & Facilities department and assist the external Design Teams during the handover process of new plant equipment and new buildings.
  • Actively manage, monitor and develop energy efficient processes ensuring Best quality, conservation, energy efficiency and green technology.
  • Provide support in Managing the utility infrastructure and associated energy consumption profile whilst liaising with energy shippers and state bodies.
  • Help develop internal reporting systems to advise the finance teams on energy consumption and how best to offset risk were possible.
  • Investigate and report on any complaints received in connection with the electrical infrastructure.
  • Liaising with the facilities team to ensure that all relevant information is captured for the purpose of implementing task lists and schedules on the CMMS.
  • Support the Quality & Risk departments in preparation and participation in internal and external audits.
  • Support the management of electrical & service contractors. i.e., scheduling servicing, issuing permits as required.
  • Planning & overseeing maintenance of MV infrastructure. Identifying, evaluating & managing electrical upgrade projects.
  • Implement optimisation projects on all systems and ensure systems are operating at optimum e.g. - Instrument replacement, calibration, range assessments etc.
  • Design and maintenance of energy management systems to comply with ISO 50001.
  • Design and specification of Electrical Engineering Solutions to current regulations and design standards.
  • Working directly with clients and project managers/engineers to define project requirements and develop technical solutions.
  • Develop and agree design processes and design deliverables.
  • Lead Pre-Construction activities including, design development, construction details, services coordination, technical submittals, sub-contracts, etc.
  • Provide technical support to the estimating, procurement, commercial, and project bid teams.
  • Play a leading role in the hospital’s Green Team, ensuring energy efficiency and compliance of the hospitals electrical infrastructure within the 2030 Climate Action road map.
  • Be part of the Technical Management Emergency On Call Rota to insure the safe operation of the hospital from and Estates and Facilities perspective
