Job Overview

You will be responsible for electronic and maintenance activities within a manufacturing environment comprising of both preventive and reactive duties.. You will take the lead role in maintaining, troubleshooting electronic equipment and instrumentation forming part of our pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. Managing the data and documentation for all data collected from the validated systems within Norbrook. This role can either be continental shifts, including days, nights and weekends OR permanent night shift.

Main Activities/Tasks
  • Safely carry out routine/preventative and reactive maintenance on electronic components.
  • Rectify and support Electronic breakdowns efficiently and effectively
  • Respond to plant breakdowns by ensuring that PPM is carried out, reducing downtime.
  • Ensure all works are carried out to a high standard as expected on a Pharmaceutical plant.
  • Ensure all H&S (Health and Safety) procedures are adhered to including Permit to Work, Comply with Norbrook’s LOTO system at all times.
  • Comply with Health & Safety requirements: as per training, policies, procedures, risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work etc.
  • Report any H&S issues/accidents/near misses to your line manager immediately.
  • Attend training as required to maintain personal qualification/competence.
  • Approve and control the issuing of Working Copy Documents for the recording of data within the GMP environment
Essential Criteria:
  • ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronic, or Engineering discipline. 
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment. 
  • Knowledge of process control systems and instrumentation. 
  • Experience in fault finding, diagnostics, and planned maintenance of electronic and control systems. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and automated equipment effectively. 
  • Good technical and problem-solving skills with a logical, methodical approach. 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond effectively under time pressure. 
  • Good communication skills and ability to complete accurate technical documentation. 

Desirable Criteria:
  • Higher-level qualification (HND/Degree) in an engineering discipline. 
  • Recognised calibration or instrumentation qualification. 
  • Experience working within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment. 
  • ATEX certification or experience working in hazardous areas. 
  • Experience with PLC-controlled systems and automation. 
  • Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). 
  • Experience in technical documentation writing (e.g. SOPs, equipment specifications). 
  • Knowledge of documentation control and data integrity principles.
