The ER Manager will provide a comprehensive employee relations service and support to HR, management, colleagues and the Bank. The role is responsible for ensuring a consistent and professional service in managing the Representative Body relationships, negotiations, management of employee relations cases internally and externally and overall support to the Bank as a while.
The ER Manager is responsible for:
1. Employee Relations Practices
2. Employee Relations Advice
3. Case Management
4. Trade Union Relationship
5. Metrics and Reporting
6. Risk, Compliance and Metrics reporting
Responsibilities:
Employee Relations Practices
- Input, develop and manage the Trade Union relationship strategy to provide a voice for all employees
- Manage the negotiation of key strategic change initiatives with unions including the annual pay review
- Continuously contribute towards the improvement of Employee Relations processes and systems
Employee Relations Advice
- Provide solutions focused advice and support to line managers and colleagues on a range of employee relations issues such as disciplinary, grievance, performance management and policies & procedures
- Provide support to the business units in relation to Employee Relations issues
- Coach, advise and support the HR Business Partner (HRBP) team in the management of individual cases
Case Management
- Manage complex employee relations cases and issues including WRC and Labour Court cases
- Act as a centre of expertise for HRBP team, HR and business on case management
- Create a culture of prevention rather than reaction by ensuring managers and colleagues are kept up to date on best practice and individual responsibilities
Trade Union Relationship
- Proactively build relationships with the various Trade Unions creating an open two-way dialogue relationship
- Regularly liaise and inform Trade Union representatives of changes that may impact on members
- Engage with internal Trade Union representatives in a professional and inclusive manner
Requirements:
Essential
- Experience negotiating with a number of diverse staff representative groups
- Experience of managing and resolving significant industrial relations issues
- Experience in negotiating and implementing pay strategies and annual pay reviews
- Experience in managing WRC and Labour Court cases
Desired
- 5 + years’ experience with ER experience
- Qualification relating to employment law, industrial relations or other related topic
- Experience with alternative dispute relation such as mediation
This is a 12 month fixed term contract, based in PTSB St Stephen’s Green Office, Dublin (Hybrid option available within the Republic of Ireland only).
