Employment and Progression Officer - EmpowerAbility
Fixed term contact until December 2028, part-time 27.3hrsper week (0.7 WTE).
This role is funded through the WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Employment Programme. Co-funded through the government of Ireland, through the department of social protection, and the European Union.
The Employment and Progression Officer will provide motivational support, careers advice and guidance to our participants whilst making them feel welcome and at ease, enabling them to overcome barriers and build confidence. They will provide training workshops covering a wide range of subjects from CV writing to online job searching. They engage with people to assess their skills and abilities and talk about their ambitions and career goals. They will explore learning and work opportunities acting as an intermediary with local employers.
Applicants must demonstrate the following essential requirements.
- One year’s relevant experience working with people with disabilities or in a career/ training/ employment role
- Experience of networking, building, and maintaining professional relationships
- An awareness of Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons/Child Protection
- Experience in reaching targets and achieving results
- A relevant technical qualification: i.e. QQI Level 5 or above in social studies, management, education or a related discipline
Desirable requirements:
- A Certificate in Supported Employment would be desirable
- Coaching/ Career Guidance/ Career Counselling/ Train the Trainer Qualification
- Experience creating opportunities for work placement or paid work with employers or other relevant community-based opportunities
- Experience of supporting adults with transitions, long term targets and life goals
- Mentoring experience and or motivational role model skills
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is essential as services are delivered in line with the needs of the individuals attending the programmes. Will require travel to all CRC Adult Services locations.
It must be clearly demonstrated in your CV and supporting statement how you meet the required skills, competencies and knowledge for the post. Department of Health Salary Scale apply, Clerical Officer Grade III (€31,618 - €48,927).
