The Role: 

The Asset Operations function forms the cornerstone of service delivery to customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards as well as managing the majority of operational expenditure. The Asset Operations function has responsibility for operational and maintenance strategy, policies, planning and standard operating procedures for Water and Wastewater operations both nationally and regionally, ensuring that value for money and customer service is delivered. 

The Operations Support Team has responsibility for providing and managing effective business infrastructure and processes at a national level to support operational activities at site level. 

Reporting to the Energy Monitoring Manager, the Energy Data & Reporting Analyst will provide vital data analysis and insights into energy efficiency and sustainability targets and will play a key role in reducing energy consumption using an innovative approach. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth data analysis in order to identify and implement opportunities for energy-efficient improvements to the organisation’s asset base
  • Provide internal and external facing reporting and act as the ‘one stop shop’ for sustainability-related data
  • Undertake desktop and field-based energy efficiency discoveries and audits to identify potential intervention areas
  • Ensuring adequate data management, integrity, assurance and audit processes are in line with best practice
  • Supporting, through data management, ‘single source of the truth’ on sustainability performance indicators, managing data integrity and quality through robust data governance and stakeholder management, delivering a suite of reports that is flexible and will facilitate effective sustainability performance management and analysis
  • Producing reports, identification of potential changes and reporting to provide insight into potential energy savings, cost, risk to service, etc.
  • Conduct measurement and verification activities on energy efficient design post-completion of works
  • Conduct measurement and verification activities on energy efficiency interventions on the existing asset base
  • Develop and implement mechanical, electrical and process interventions aimed at reducing the energy intensity of operations
  • Support the monitoring of energy efficiency through the provision of data as required by the monitoring team

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
  • Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards. 
  • Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
  • Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable 
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience
  • Experience managing a team, with strong people, change management and conflict resolution skills
  • We work better together - ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally 
  • Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate information to others
  • Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results within a team. 
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions
  • Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements
  • We aim high - proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job
