The Job Summary:

Wrightbus is proud to be the fastest growing production company in Europe. We are looking for our next Engineering Analyst to support our development of current and future projects. This is an exciting role if you have an interest in data analytics and want to work in a fast paced environment focussing on low emission (Hydrogen/ EV) battery and vehicle systems.

The Role:
  • Support the Lead Engineering Analysts in the development of the portfolio of Wrightbus simulation tools for battery-electric, hydrogen and future technologies, including, but not limited to vehicle simulation models, route profiling/duty cycle generation, total-cost-of-ownership & life-cycle carbon models, etc.
  • To fully document all respective information through the data gathering, modelling and validation processes.
  • To produce technical research reports and presentation material to a high standard.
  • Support Wrightbus’ Business Development, Sales and Commercial teams with necessary information to support tenders, customer presentations, visits, etc.
  • Support or lead on-vehicle testing exercises and zero-emission bus demonstrator trials, including but not limited to data gathering/extraction, analysis & producing test reports to a high standard.
  • To work closely with all Engineering divisions and NPD teams in future development projects.
  • To work closely with the Directors, Management Team, Postdoctoral Research Fellows and PhD students of the Wright Technology & Research Centre at Queen’s University, Belfast (W-Tech) in supporting shared data requirements for advanced research projects.
  • Ensure practices and activities comply fully with company QMS processes and support all activities which will result in an improved quality product and support total quality initiatives.
  • Work within the boundaries of relevant international legislative text, health and safety legislation and industry recognised testing standards.
  • To provide a continuously improving level of service to all internal customers and support departments.
  • To promote and support a safe working environment in line with H&S legislation, the environment and best practice.
  • Undertake any other duties conducive with the effective operation of the post.
The Requirements
  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, Software, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience of developing computer-based modelling and simulation tools.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced engineering / manufacturing environment OR a relevant research environment.
  • Experience of presenting complex technical information to variety of audiences.
  • Experience of data gathering and analysis (relevant to engineering).
  • Experience of managing projects.
  • Highly competent in MS packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of data manipulation and analysis skills.
  • Experience using Python and/or MATLAB/Simulink software packages.
