Engineering Apprentice
Day shift: Monday to Thursday 7:45am to 4:45pm, Friday 7:45am to 12:45pm.
Reporting to: Engineering Manager

Job Role:
As an Engineering Apprentice, you will be responsible for learning how to support the manufacturing plant, equipment and buildings to ensure optimum production performance at all times.
You will learn how to
• Complete all preventative and general maintenance work on site on time, maintaining all equipment to the manufacturer's recommendations, and ensuring all records are completed and always up to date
• Deal with unscheduled and emergency maintenance work and breakdowns, including fault finding and necessary repair in a safe and timely manner; conduct root cause analysis on shift documenting and communicating immediate countermeasures and long-term actions to prevent re-occurrence and allow accurate reporting to the Engineering Manager for the shift log.
• Be proactive in predicting, detecting, reporting and diagnosing potential and existing software, electrical and mechanical problems on all equipment to identify issues and faults, solve problems, and increase the reliability, availability, and utilisation of the plant.
• Maintain factory services in excellent order, utilise 5S system, and ensure housekeeping is kept to the highest standard in all areas of responsibility for the Engineering Dept.
• Improving OEE and working to Departmental KPI’s
Principal Duties:
5 GCSE grades A*- C or equivalent in English, Maths, Science as a minimum

Principal Duties:
- Attending all academic studies
- Take responsibility for completing all coursework set by assessors to successfully achieve your vocational qualifications including logbooks and coursework
- Complete tasks as assigned to you relevant to your chosen apprenticeship route
- Meet all personal and professional standards set by the Company, particularly regarding health and safety
- During your apprenticeship, you’ll be assessed to make sure you’re achieving the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed for your chosen apprenticeship

- Currently studying or recently completed an Engineering course.
- You will have a good level of dexterity hand skills
- Demonstrate an interest in problem solving.
- You will have good hand to eye co-ordination and hand skills
- Your logical approach to problem solving will enable you to perform to make a good contribution to all aspects of the job
- You need to be able to learn through instruction and experience
