Enterprise Engagement Officer
Salary Scale
€60,610 p.a. - €73,516 p.a.
Long service Increment 1, €76,149 after three years satisfactory service at the maximum.
Long Service Increment 2, €78,794 after three years satisfactory service at LSI 1
New appointees to any grade start at the minimum point of the scale. Incremental credit is normally granted on appointment, in respect of current experience in the Civil Service, Local Authorities, Health Service and other Public Service Bodies and Statutory Agencies.
Annual Leave
29 working days per annum (pro-rata).
Working Week
35 hours per week (exclusive of one hour lunch)
Probation
In accordance with S.I. No. 686/2022 - European Union (Transparent and Predictable Working Conditions) Regulations 2022, the period of probation shall not exceed 12 months.
Superannuation
Membership of the ETB Superannuation Scheme and of the ETB’s Spouses and Children’s Scheme is automatic and compulsory.
A panel may be formed from which future similar vacancies may be filled; such panel will remain active for a maximum period of 6 months.

Job ObjectivesOverview of the Role
The Enterprise Engagement Officer is a key position within Dublin College Baldoyle the successful candidate will co-ordinate enterprise engagement activities for the college and promote the range of programmes and initiatives that are delivered to employers and employees across DDLETB.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the relevant Training Centre Assistant Manager and in co-operation with the Enterprise Engagement Manager -
- Establish and maintain strong and effective links with employers throughout the region - by telephone, in-person visits and other communication means as necessary.
- Develop and provide a range of information and promotional materials on the range of DDLETB’s services for business.
- Coordinate and promote DDLETB’s services for business through all available media, organising enterprise engagement promotional events and activities, open days etc.
- Work with colleagues to assist in the development and maintenance of a database of active employers in the region to ensure regular contact with employers in a professional, planned way.
- Supply/present reports and statistics at regular intervals or as required.
- Recruitment of enterprises and employees for DDLETB’s range of enterprise / employee focused education and training interventions, including establishing both enterprise and employee eligibility.
- Ensure all enterprise and employee details are accurately recorded and promptly uploaded to the SOLAS and DDLETB systems.
- Assist in the development and implementation of a DDLETB Enterprise Engagement Action Plan.
- Meet with individual companies to conduct an initial Training Needs Analysis, and ensure that the programmes are suitable to meet the identified needs.
- In co-operation with the Enterprise Engagement team, work with the Enterprise Engagement Manager to ensure DDLETB has effective links with industry representative bodies such as Regional Skills Fora, Local Chambers, LEOs, SkillNet, and is fully represented and participates in relevant networks.
- Establish and maintain regular contact with FET staff involved in Enterprise Engagement activities including all DDLETB personnel engaging with employers and/or employees regarding the provision of employer focused training ensuring the sharing of good practice, information and industry intelligence on the skills needs of employers in the region.
- Supervise and allocate tasks to relevant staff as required, and assist in the development of an effective enterprise engagement team.
- Approve/reconcile expenditure for payment in accordance with programme guidelines, and ensure accuracy of all supporting documentation as required by SOLAS & DDLETB.
- Ensure records are kept in line with the Data Retention period for the programme.
- Liaise with learners and industry stakeholders to carry out evaluations as part of a process to ensure that FET programmes are meeting their training needs on an ongoing, consistent basis.
- Provide input on the design, development, and implementation of new programmes, using the feedback above to ensure an agile, responsive, and innovative FET response to industry needs.
- Under the direction of the Assistant Manager, represent DDLETB on working groups with other agencies, stakeholders and SOLAS etc. as required.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, staff development, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
- Keep up to date of developments in Enterprise Engagement, Quality Assurance, QQI policy, education and training design, delivery and assessment techniques and keep the Management Team advised on best practice.
- Undertake any other duties/projects appropriate to the needs of DDLETB.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
Essential Requirements
- A qualification at Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications or its equivalent, and/or significant relevant work experience; Third level qualification(s) in relevant discipline(s) commensurate with this role would be a decided advantage.
- Have the requisite knowledge, skills and competencies to carry out the role.
- A work history which demonstrates initiative, innovation, and ability to accept change and new challenges.
- A flexible approach with the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Excellent ICT, administration and co-ordination skills.
- Excellent motivating, negotiating, interpersonal and teamworking skills.
- Knowledge of programmes/projects and services provided by DDLETB
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience of organising promotional and training events, seminars etc.
- Good presentation skills.
- Knowledge of recruitment practice.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in dealing with the general public; additionally, the ability to empathise with a variety of client groups.
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent standard of education.
- Successful applicant should have a full driving licence, access to a car, and be willing to travel.
- Willing to work outside normal working hours.
