Job Purpose
Dawn Farms is currently seeking an Environmental Officer to join our Environmental Department on a permanent basis in our state of the art production facilities in Naas, Co. Kildare.The Environmental Officer will be responsible for supporting the Environmental Team in all aspects of Environmental across the company, along with assisting in driving the Environmental Agenda.
Location: Naas, Co. Kildare, Ireland.
Salary: DOE
Working Hours: 39 hours per week, Mon. - Fri. (some flexibility required)
Contract Type: Permanent
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain the environmental management system and support the environmental KPI programme.
- Collect, interpretate and present key data.
- Act as the secondary regulatory contact point with the EPA.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards associated with Industrial Emissions Licence, ISO 14001, Environmental Legislation, all site standards, policies, and procedures.
- Participation in root cause investigations of environmental incidents on site and employment of critical thinking to focus on associated corrective actions.
- Manage and/or participate in relevant site projects ensuring that environmental aspects receive appropriate consideration and evaluation as part of plant/process changes and/or other site projects.
- Liaise with third party contractors to ensure environmental compliance monitoring and lab testing is carried out as required and as per annual schedules.
- Provide guidance on Waste Management: work in conjunction with Waste Management contractors to ensure waste generated on site is managed in compliance with all relevant IE license, Irish and EU legislative requirements. Conduct off-site audits of Waste Facilities if necessary.
- Support Environmental Manager to compile relevant related sections of the PRTR and AER.
- Ensure compliance with Integrity Testing Processes on site.
- Plan, organise and deliver Environmental Training to employees on site.
- Document, investigate and resolve complaints
- Carry out noise monitoring and odour assessments (night-time monitoring on occasion)

Requirements for Job:

- · Efficient and works well under pressure.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Environmental Science Degree/Bachelor of Science or Diploma
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Good interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with people at all levels
