As ESG Risk Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the Sustainability Delivery and Assurance Manager in working with cross functional teams to ensure consideration for Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) risk are integrated into all areas of the business, aligned with the Bank’s Business Strategy, Sustainability Strategy, Ambition, Purpose, Culture and Strategic Priorities.

You will play a key role in the delivery and ongoing evolution of PTSB’s ESG Risk Action Plan, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations (including EBA and ECB guidance) and supporting the delivery of Bank’s broader Sustainability Strategy.

Acting as a trusted adviser to management and stakeholders, you will help ensure that ESG risks are identified, assessed, managed and reported effectively across the Three Lines of Defence.

Responsibilities:

• Act as an ESG Risk and Sustainability Business Partner, working with cross functional teams to support the integration of ESG risk considerations and Sustainability objectives into business strategy, processes and decision making aligned to the Bank’s ESG Risk Action Plan.
• Support the identification and integration of ESG Risk across the Bank’s Risk Management Framework and Three Lines of Defence Model, working closely with the Bank’s Risk Team.
• Conduct regulatory horizon scanning and support the interpretation of ESG regulatory requirements and emerging trends, translating these into practical guidance for business units, including ESG risk identification, measurement, management and monitoring, sustainable product development, while supporting the Bank to mitigate against greenwashing risk.
• Work cross functionally with stakeholders to develop implementation plans to ensure that all regulatory and supervisory requirements are met for Sustainability-related regulations.
• Support the implementation of the EBA Environmental Scenario Analysis (ESA) regulation through mobilisation and delivery of the Bank’s ESA Action Plan.
• Collaborate with the Bank’s Customer, Product and Proposition teams to identify ESG and Sustainability-related commercial opportunities and areas for competitive differentiation. Support the Product teams in developing and delivering products and tools to support customers on their transition.

Requirements:

Essential

• Experience within the risk and the regulatory environment in the financial services sector.
• Good understanding of international ESG and Sustainability frameworks (Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UN Principles for Responsible Banking (UNPR), UN Global Compact, amongst others) and how to implement them within an organisation.
• Stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge supportively and effectively.
• A confident and articulate communicator capable of bringing people together and inspiring strong collaboration within an organisation. Must have the ability to write clearly and effectively.

This is a Permanent (hybrid) position based in St. Stephens Green, Dublin, the Republic of Ireland.
