We are now seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Business Manager (Grade VII) to join our team and support the Chief Executive in delivering on our strategic and operational priorities. This pivotal role will contribute to the effective functioning of the CEO’s Office while driving key initiatives and fostering strong relationships across the organisation and wider sector.

The postholder will work alongside the Board Liaison Officer to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the office of the Chief Executive. The post will include administrative and managerial responsibilities. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring the Chief Executive receives all required support to carry out their role and will lead out on a number of key initiatives on behalf of the Chief Executive.

Eligible candidates are those who meet the essential criteria and competencies of the post.

Qualification requirements

Essential:

  • Minimum Level 8 Degree in a qualification relevant to the effective discharge of the duties of the post, for example Business, Legal, Healthcare, Social Science, Finance, HR, Project Management.
  • Qualification in Project Management and / or Lean Management or a willingness to undertake same within 12 months of post commencement.

Desirable:

  • Level 9 QQI in Business Administration.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Experience ​requirement

Essential:

  • At least four years’ experience in a role with responsibility in supporting the effective operation of a senior level executive in a comparable size organisation.
  • Experience in working with multiple internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating good networking capabilities.
  • Experience managing and developing staff teams.
  • Experience in leading out improvements in systems or service delivery.​
  • Experience in working within rapidly changing environments.
  • Experienced in successfully developing and delivering projects.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within regulatory frameworks.​
  • Experience at both practitioner and management levels of work. ​
  • Experience in delivering change management programmes.

Knowledge requirement

Essential:

  • Sector strategic issues and trends. ​
  • Public Sector macro-economic environment and implications for the organisation. ​
  • Governance and standards – Legal, Regulatory, Statutory and Governance Management Procedures, systems, and processes. ​
  • Resource Management. ​
  • Knowledge of Organisation Structure, Systems Roles, Processes. ​
  • Service planning and development. ​
  • Sector structures, representational systems, and key stakeholders. ​
  • Change Management.
  • Critical appraisal and evaluation.
  • Best practice models in delivering services and supports in the sector.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing the ‘Time to Move On from Congregated Settings’ policy, including transitioning people to community-based living arrangements.

Health

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. Character

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character. Horizons require all candidates undergo Garda Vetting as part of the recruitment process.

Other Essential Requirements Specific to the Post

Hold a full driver’s licence which allows for driving in Ireland and have access to personal transport for the requirements of fulfilling the duties of the post.
