Extrusion Process Engineer

At Zeus, we believe in finding solutions for our customers using the latest in extrusion technology -whether that’s in the medical devices sector, automotive or aerospace industries. Our growth in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal continues, and we are now seeking an Extrusion Process Engineer who will be responsible for troubleshooting materials, processes, and tooling-related production issues to improve and optimize the extrusion process.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Extrusion Process Engineer will:

  • Troubleshoot materials, processes, and tooling production issues
  • Lead process optimisation and continuous improvement activities.
  • Attain technical expertise in extrusion technologies and materials;
  • Research available technologies with the objective of improving product quality, reducing cost and increasing capacity.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects.
  • Lead/participate in root cause investigation of customer complaints and audit findings.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Degree in Engineering or Science (Chemical, Mechanical, Polymer, Materials)
  • 5 Years + experience in a process engineering/improvement role.
  • ·Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving & communication skills;
  • Teamworking and autonomous working abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects.
  • High degree of proficiency with computer databases, DOE and statistical analysis (Six Sigma experience highly desirable)

We will highly value candidates with the following desirable experience:

  • Prior experience in plastics, (Polymer extrusion/ Injection/ Blow moulding)
  • Knowledge of material testing methods, e.g., Tensile, DSC, DMTA, FTIR
  • Solid Works experience
  • Experience in Continuous improvement, Kaizen, SPC, and TPM
