Facilities & Maintenance Technician

The role has ownership for providing facilities and planned maintenance activities, equipment moves management, Health & Safety and energy management of the highest quality standards, enabling the business to carry out its activities in a safe, productive & cost effective environment. Responsible for the safe and efficient execution of planned and unplanned maintenance of plant and utilities, in compliance with the companies EH&S and Quality standards.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and comply with all site health and safety requirements and work in a safe manner.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment faults
  • Maintain and adhere to the equipment maintenance schedule
  • Respond and rectify unplanned & emergency maintenance callouts
  • Purchase and install required parts & services for equipment repair
  • Develop and implement operating procedures for equipment
  • Evaluate and update equipment to facilitate production efficiencies and improve product quality.
  • Carry out relevant equipment calibrations and compile the associated reports
  • Monitor and maintain the air filtration, compressed air supply , RO water and mains water supply systems.
  • Liaise with 3rd party contractors for relevant plant maintenance & repairs.
  • Provide training to new installations and equipment modifications
  • Investigate, analyse and derive resolutions for relevant non-conformance.
  • Carry out small facilities & utilities works when required, e.g. painting, handles, door closers, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, sourcing and collection of hardware items.
  • Carry out and participate with risk assessments relevant to the task.
  • Carry out and participate with validations relevant to the equipment and tasks.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Electrical and /or Mechanical Senior Trades or Diploma in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Proven track record and experience in preventative and reactive maintenance / repairs of high volume process equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical & Pneumatic control systems, BMS, automation and microprocessor controls
  • Full Clean Driving Licience

Desirable Qualifications:

  • HVAC and Cleanroom operation and maintenance.
  • Computer literate
  • Process Control and Pneumatics
  • Calibration and Validation experience

  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside Fannin (e.g. IT, suppliers & freight companies)

  • Ability to plan and prioritise work to meet commitments aligned with production priorities.
